In mid June, George and I photographed Lisa and John’s wedding.
We started the day with Lisa and the ladies at her parents’ home. Their nicely landscaped back yard provided ample opportunities for pictures. The good news is that no one fell (or was pushed for that matter) into the pool. And the flower girls had a blast on the swing set. We broke out the fisheye lens for a few pictures of the girls swinging. We also took some bridal portraits of Lisa against a shed wall, which provided some great textures. Once we finished up the formals with Lisa, her family, and all the ladies, we headed to the church.
The ceremony was held at St. Mary’s in Dedham, MA. Even though we photographed another wedding at this church this year, we were excited to be back because of the unmatched beauty of the sanctuary. It is more of a cathedral than a church. Then again, I don’t know that I really know the difference between the two. I just know that St. Mary’s is stunning. Videographer Stan Reid was on hand to capture every moment as it unfolded.
The reception was held at the well-know Christina’s Function Facility in Foxboro, MA. They just recently complete renovations of the bridal suite as well as the main entrance. Everyone in the bridal party really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the bridal suite as well as the hors d’oeuvres delivered to the room. We took the formal pictures in the garden outside the main entrance. Clearly, it was designed for wedding photography and provides a great backdrop. We took pictures with the wedding party as well as extended family.
The bride and groom, along with parents and bridal party, were introduced to the awaiting guests. Dallas’ toast made mention of his dad’s dating history and how he was glad John finally found Lisa. The guests agreed. Lisa and John then spent some time greeting their guests while dinner was being served.
With over 300 guests at the wedding, the reception was quite the celebration. DJ Ron Furr kept the party going all night long. Unlike some DJs who may “play” music, DJ Ron brings mixing tables and was mixing up songs the whole night. Have you ever heard Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean” mixed with Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack”? I hadn’t either before Ron mixed them that night. It was a great mix of a classic song with a current chart-topper. Ron did a great job of keeping the guests entertained throughout the evening and had most of the guests on the dance floor the whole night.
We had a wonderful evening with Lisa and John and their guests. Thank you Lisa and John for allowing us to record your wedding through our photography.
