Theresa & Jason say I do!
Theresa and Jason were married this past weekend in Weymouth. The wedding
Mass was held at Sacred Heart Parish, which was recently rebuilt after a tragic fire. This brand new church was obviously built with a desire to maintain the feel of an older cathedral. The reception was held at the Brook Meadow Country Club in Canton, MA.
We met Theresa at the Marriott in Norwood where she and the ladies were getting ready. The courtyard and gazebo at the hotel provided a great backdrop for the formal pictures with the ladies. A few happy tears were shed along the way, which made the moment even more memorable. The ladies were quickly whisked away in a limo to the church.
The Mass was beautiful. Both the Father and the cantor did an incredible job. The cantor’s voice filled the entire sanctuary with a heavenly sound that words can’t describe. What a privilege we have to be a part of these services! Theresa and Jason’s affection for each other was obvious when the kissed, and kissed, and kissed, and kissed. I was happy they gave me enough time to capture a shot or twenty of the kiss.
Following the ceremony, we took a few formals in the sanctuary with the wedding party and the moved outside to take group pictures with the family. After the group pictures, I took Theresa and Jason back up to the front door of the church to get some fun pictures of just the two of them. Russell, of Mavid Productions, was there video taping each moment. I enjoy working with him. He and I come up with some great ideas together.
Once Theresa and Jason toasted their new marriage with a glass of champagne, they were off to the Brook Meadow Country Club. We arrived just in time to take a few more outside shots with the available light. I had a "first" for wedding photography – I drove a golf cart! There is a beautiful fountain out by one of the greens that we drove to to take pictures of Theresa and Jason. It was a lot of fun, but I would highly recommend not trying to take pictures and drive a golf cart at the same time. Golf courses have water hazards…
After a few more shots with some of Jason’s family from California, the wedding party was announced and the festivities kicked into high gear. Jason’s brother was the best man and gave one of the funniest best man speeches I’ve ever heard. If you’re a "Friends" fan at all, you would have been laughing hysterically.
Theresa and Jason both took the opportunity for a special dance – Theresa with her grandfather and Jason with his mom. After that, the dance floor was packed the rest of the night! The DJ did a great job of playing to the crowd and gave Russell and me some great material. The guests were a partying bunch. Before I knew what was happening, Theresa and Jason were being "crowd surfed" above everyone’s heads. Everyone had a great time. Even the bride and groom’s grandfathers were out dancing with everyone and loving every minute of it.
Thank you Theresa and Jason for your willingness to work with us! It was a lot of fun to be with you on such a special occasion. I would also like to thank Jen of Jenifer Lyn Photography for filling in for George as the second shooter. You were a life saver Jen!
