I received a Facebook message from Molly."Jeff – will you take some prom pictures of me and John?" "Sure!" was my response.

I’ve known Molly and John for years and was excited to get some non-standard prom pictures for them. You know the shot I’m talking about. Girl in front. Guy behind, but just to the side with his hands on her hips. Usually there’s a trellis or a stand with flowers in the background. Yep, non of that here…

Molly lives right on a lake in Braintree. We started on the deck of the house. We added parents. We also added in some aviator sunglasses. Then we walked down to the dock. I ended up in the water (voluntarily, I should add). Sometimes, I get myself into physically awkward situations to get the right shot. It’s usually worth it and this was no exception.

We then headed back up the hill to get some more pictures of just Molly and John. There was no lack of settings here. A stone wall and lamp post were just sitting there waiting for us.

I saw Molly and John a couple of days later and asked how the prom was. They said they had a great time, but the funnest part for them was taking pictures. I couldn’t ask for a better compliment!
