Jillian & Josh’s Fall Wedding Celebration at Chamberlain Farm & Pavilion in Berkley, MA
I don’t know that I’ve ever met a couple with more inside jokes than Jillian & Josh. It’s almost as if they speak their own language that only the two of them understand. Can you say relationship goals?
I met Jillian and Josh through Josh’s family. I’ve previously photographed both his sisters for their senior portraits as well as one of his sister’s Quinceaneras. I was thrilled when they reached out to me about photographing their wedding!
We started with an engagement session back in October of 2018. They wanted something a little different so I took them to an abandoned factory. I’ve shared a few of those images below. It was clear to me during that session that Josh was great at making Jillian laugh and he loved to do that. Neither hesitated to laugh with each other, at each other or at themselves. My kind of people.
Jillian and Josh’s wedding took place in October at the beautiful Chamberlain Farm and Pavilion in Berkley, MA. This was only my second time photographing this beautiful venue. There are so many nooks and crannies for photos, it’s a bit overwhelming but SOOOO worth it! The barns, a vintage truck, a pond, a country lane, a corn field and some of the most beautiful flower beds on the south shore – great photo opportunities are endless!
We started our time on the farm with Jillian and Josh’s first look. Josh’s enthusiastic reaction was priceless! We then had lots of time to take formal photos of Jillian and Josh before the wedding party joined us for a few prior to the ceremony. Jillian’s bridesmaids made the best human wall I’ve ever seen as a few early guests tried to sneak pictures.
The outdoor ceremony was held in the garden next to the pavilion. Jillian looked absolutely stunning as she and her brother walked down the aisle. I don’t know if it was simply nervous energy or just the pure joy of the moment, but Jillian and Josh couldn’t stop making silly faces at each other throughout the ceremony and cracking each other up. Totally adorable.
We wrapped up the formal photos following the ceremony with a few family formals and a couple more pictures of the wedding party.
The reception was in the tented pavilion. DJ Jon Smith of Unique Sounds Entertainment was the emcee for the evening. He’s one of the best in the industry and did a phenomenal job of mixing up the music and tailoring a lot of the musical choices to the crowd. This night in particular, there was plenty of hip-shaking Latino music to go around!
One of the things I appreciate the most about Jillian and Josh is their sense of humor. They’ve faced some challenges in life and have a unique perspective on what’s truly important. I think this has contributed to their style of humor and their ability to laugh with and at each other. A truly valuable lesson for us all.
Jillian & Josh – here’s to many years of laughter, love and more laughter!
Special thanks to Wayne Chinnock for second shooting with me and being amazing as always!
