Be assured, my name is not Ronnie Craven.  You’re probably saying to yourself, “Who is Ronnie Craven?”  Apparently Ronnie Craven isn’t sure who he is either.  I was checking the boston.com homepage today and was greeted with the headline, “Did you date Jeff Turner of the Sonics?”  Naturally, this caught my attention.

For those that don’t know, there is a former NBA player named Jeff Turner.  I’ve known this for quite some time as I used to be a serious sports card collector and all my friends would give me their Jeff Turner basketball cards.  It was fun to have a card with my name on it, although it may not look exactly like me.  But, just like Joey Tribbiani of “Friends” has a “hand twin,” I think Jeff could pass for my “muscular arm twin.”  My wife is laughing at me right now for some reason…

What does Ronnie Craven have to do with all of this?  Apparently, he wasn’t happy with who he was and decided to identify himself as Jeff Turner.  What’s more ironic is that Ronnie is from Somerville, MA, which is where I grew up!  On top of that, Craven is a family name on my dad’s side.  AND Ronnie and I used to live next door to each other.  Alright, I made that part up, but the rest is true.

So no worries here.  I’ve been Jeff Turner since the day I was born.  At least that what my mom tells me.  Is she really my mom?  How do I know?!
