Eve and Brian’s Wedding

I’ll never forget the first time I met Eve and Brian. I’m usually pretty good at reading people, but I got home and I said to Dorothy, "I couldn’t read them AT ALL." She was rather surprised at that statement herself. It turns out that Eve and Brian are simply two of the most laid back people I’ve ever met. Turns out I love that about them. Their wedding day reflected their personalities perfectly – completely laid back and fun.

Eve and Brian had their ceremony and reception at The Village Inn in Narragansett, RI. Situated right on the water, it was hard to overlook the beauty of the local coastline. Photographic opportunities abounded and we did our best to take advantage of them.

George and I met up with Eve first. She was getting ready in her room at the Inn along with her sister and one other bridesmaid. George snapped a few photos of the dress and went off to catch up with Brian. They went up to the roof deck and awaited Eve’s arrival.

Eve and Brian chose to see each other prior to their ceremony so they could have a special moment together and get most of their formals taken beforehand and enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests. For the reveal, it was just Eve and Brian on the roof deck. We had Brian situated against the deck rail overlooking the ocean and Eve came up behind him. It was a truly special moment.

We met up with the rest of the wedding party a short while later and then headed outside to take the formals. Our first stop was a park across the street next to the Towers. The old stone wall made for a beautiful backdrop. We then took the whole group down the street to the beach. Along the way, some guys were out with their "choppers" and allowed Eve to sit on one for a photo op!

Once we got to the beach, I thought it would be most appropriate for the wedding party to all have their shoes off. The obliged and we walked (and ran) along the water’s edge for some fun group photos. We then headed back so the ladies could tidy up and prepare for the ceremony.

The ceremony was held on the roof deck as well. There was a passing shower a bit earlier, but the rain had stopped and the sun came out just in time for the ceremony. Bagpipe music filled the air as Eve walked down the aisle toward Brian. Combining their two religious heritages, their ceremony was a mix of Jewish and Christian traditions.

Following the ceremony, we did a few more formal photos and then Eve and Brian spent the rest of the time visiting with their guests during cocktail hour. George and I snapped candids as well as details of the room.

The Studio C Band was on hand to emcee and provide music throughout the evening. With one lead singer and two backups, they created some great harmonies on more genres than I have room for in this blog. They even took requests straight from the dance floor and kept the party going until the very end.

The evening was filled with dinner, dancing, laughter and gelato. I enjoyed watching Eve and Brian taking it all in as they went around the room to greet their guests. They were truly living in the moment.

Eve and Brian – thanks for being you! I love your approach to life and feel I could take some pointers about being a bit more laid back sometimes. Congratulations on a beautiful wedding and a wonderful celebration of your future lives together! George and I had a great time with you!

No disrespect meant…just creating a funny photo!

When was the last time you saw an actual bride on an actual chopper?!  SO awesome!

I love how joyful Eve and her parents look at this moment!

Not sure what it is about this photo, but I love it.

George snagged a great shot here!  One of my favorites!

 I had a little fun with backlighting…

I think you could say they were having a good time…

And, of course, a twilight shot. Due to the location, this was without a doubt our most difficult twilight shot to date.  No brides or grooms or animals were injured in the process of taking this photograph.
