My friend and fellow photographer, Ken-Shing Law,sent me an email to let me know that he was taking his lovely wife Sara to Newport, RI to celebrate their third wedding anniversary. As a gift, he wanted to surprise her with a portrait session. The plan was hatched and I was to meet them outside their hotel. He told Sara a "driver" was coming to take them out.
As they walked out the front door, I sat in the cab of my truck watching as Ken smiled and Sara tried to put the pieces together. I could tell by the look on her face, she was trying hard to figure out what was going on. I stepped out of my truck and approached. I smiled and gave Sara a big hug. She hugged me in return and said, "It’s great to see you, but I’m so confused!" That’s when Ken filled her in on what was really happening.
We spent the next couple of hours driving and shooting around Newport. It’s pretty easy to find a great place to shoot there. We found a few.
