I’ve quickly learned that working for yourselfdoesn’t automatically come with all the freedom in the world. It first comes with a significant amount of responsibility to your business and clients. Not having someone else to say "Take care of this while I’m gone" makes it difficult to be "gone." So when I have the rare opportunity to get away, Dorothy, Lily (our newest addition), and I do just that.
A couple of weeks ago, we took a few days off together and stayed at a friend’s condo in Ogunquit, ME . This is one of our favorite spots to visit off-season. Sometimes we get lucky with the weather. This time, not so much. We had a lot of rain, but did catch a bit of sun at the end of our trip.
This was our daughter Lily’s first trip out of state. She was born on March 19th and is now just over eight weeks old. She did really well on the trip. Thank goodness!
A few highlights included a very yummy dinner at "Tapas and Tini’s." The tapas were great and we were there on Wednesday night for the $9.95 dinner special. Whoo Hoo!! Our friends Jon and Melody live just up the coast in Cape Elizabeth, so they got to come down and join us for lunch one day as well.
Another highlight was going out on Ogunquit Beach and taking pictures of Dorothy and Lily together. Lily didn’t stay awake very long, but we had a good time anyway. The last highlight was visiting Nubble Light in Cape Neddick. This is one of my favorite photography spots in the area.
Although short-lived, it was a great get-away and a much needed break. Here are a few snaps from the trip. If you like the "art" pictures, you may click on the image to purchase a print.
Every time I look at this picture, I think of Chip in Napoleon Dynamite saying, "Peace Out!"
