I’ll never forget the night of Caroline and Tim’s engagement session this past August. It was just one of those perfect nights to be at the beach. Likewise, I don’t think Caroline and Tim will ever forget their wedding day. It was perfect for them.
George and I arrived at the Pinehills Golf Club a bit early as usual. I gave him the quick tour and then we got right to work on some detail shots. Caroline and Tim are sports fanatics, so many of their "details" had a either a Red Sox or Patriots theme. There were Patriots and Red Sox wrapped cookies for favors, Red Sox bows for décor, a Patriots groom’s cake, a framed invitation that looked like a Patriots game ticket and more. They also had princess wands for their nieces and pop-streamers for their nephews.
Tim arrived next. George headed outside to start the formals while we still had some daylight. Soon after, the limo pulled up with Caroline and her ladies. After a few touch ups, the ladies and I headed outside to join the guys. We worked quickly to get all the formals done before the sun set. We finished with Caroline and Tim standing at the edge of the golf course with a dramatic sunset filling the sky. Perfect.
The guests continued to arrive and the ceremony was underway in no time. Tim, donning his Red Sox tie, walked in first. Caroline, escorted by her son and daughter, capped off the processional. They kept the ceremony simple. It ended with a little surprise from the JP – a quote from a Disney movie about living happily ever after. Caroline was clearly touched by the thoughtfulness behind the sentiment.
We spent the cocktail hour shooting candids of the guests and snapping a few additional detail shots once the room was set up for the reception. The DJ for the evening was the husband and wife team of Steve and Liz Solomon. Liz mc’ed while her husband mixed the music. It wasn’t long before Liz introduced the wedding party into the reception. Caroline’s brother "Fishy" shared an incredibly personal toast and thanked Caroline and Tim for their support while his young son spent many days and nights in Children’s Hospital. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room, including my own.
Caroline and Tim love having fun and are not the formal type at all. I can recall Tim telling me during their engagement session, "I don’t ever wear a tie." To fit their personal style and allow their guests to feel comfortable, they let their guests know that "casual attire" was fine. Many guests took them up on their offer and Tim wasted no time taking his tie off for good.
Steve and Liz kept the dance floor full the rest of the night. Caroline and Tim and the rest of their guests spent the evening dancing, laughing and simply having a good ‘ol time.
Congrats to Caroline and Tim on a wonderful wedding. I’m so glad you found each other and have the rest of your lives to share together. Thanks for giving George and I the opportunity to celebrate with you!
