Anabela & Larry: A Destination Wedding – Part III
The day of Anabela and Larry’s wedding had arrived. We showed up to their suite as Anabela was in the process of kicking Larry out so she could get ready. On the other side of the plaza, efforts were underway to have the chapel decorated with beautiful white flower bouquets.
Anabela’s beautiful Rosa Clara dress hung in the bedroom. I snapped some photos as the Maid-of-Honor and the other ladies hurried about the room preparing themselves.
We had only a few minutes prior to the ceremony to photograph Anabela, but I knew exactly where I wanted to photograph her since the moment I had arrived at the Bristol Buenaventura. A small covered walk-way that surrounded a secluded court yard had caught my eye. As we walked from Anabela’s suite to the chapel, we stopped in the walk-way for a few shots. Just as beautiful as I imagined!
The small chapel was filled to capacity with wedding guests. The harpist played an elegant melody. Larry was at the front awaiting the arrival of Anabela. She and her dad walked through the door and Larry smiled from ear-to-ear. You could hear the communal gasp as the guests laid eyes on Anabela. She was stunning.
The mass was in Spanish. My high school Spanish class vocab came rushing back in hopes of understanding what was being said. Unfortunately, we didn’t study the Catholic wedding mass in Spanish.
Following the ceremony, we took the group formals in front of the chapel and then a few of Larry and Anabela by the Corotu tree in the center of the plaza. Then they joined their guests for the end of cocktail hour. George was working on details of the room while I readied for the bride and groom’s grand entrance into the ballroom.
The remainder of the evening is a blur of delicious food, a gorgeous cake, a band that kept the dance floor hopping all evening and a DJ that took the true party-people into the wee hours of the morning. I’ll leave the descriptions of the details to the photos. Raquel Alfaro, the coordinator that had worked hand-in-hand with Anabela throughout the process to give Anabela the wedding of her dreams, smiled as she watched the guests dance and celebrate.
Anabela and Larry – thank you for giving George and I an experience we will never forget. We truly enjoyed working with you both, but even more, we enjoyed making two new friends. Thank you for including us in your wedding celebration. We wish you many, many years of love and success!
Larry has an infectious laugh…
I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something I simply LOVE about this photo.
Stunning. Simply Stunning.
I love capturing moments like this…Anabela was removing some lipstick from Larry’s lips.
This picture makes me think of Louis Armstrong.
Larry dancing with his mom.
Anabela and Larry got all dressed up for crazy hour…
…and the guests helped it live up to its name.
