Whenever I shoot a wedding, I always wonderwhat’s going to happen. What will be forgotten? Will the groom cry when he sees his bride walking down the aisle? How much will the guests party? Are we going to have enough time for formals? Will I catch any surprise reactions with my camera? Will the bride and groom dance a lot?

Looking back at Abby and Adam’s wedding, I don’t think I’ve ever asked myself, "Will the bride and groom be the craziest dancers I’ve ever seen?" In hindsight, I probably should have. During the reception, I usually hope to get one or two crazy/fun pictures of the bride and groom. Well, Abby and Adam provided that opportunity continuously throughout the evening. I’ve rarely seen a couple have so much fun on the dance floor at their wedding. They were clearly having the time of their lives. Love it!

The day actually started with Abby and her dad riding into the beautiful grounds of Independence Harbor in a horse-drawn carriage. Adam and the guests waited at the gazebo. Abby stepped out of the carriage. She was beaming. She walked down the grassy aisle through the sea of faces gazing at her. It was finally here!

Following the brief ceremony, Abby and Adam jumped back into the carriage for a few pictures and then joined the rest of the wedding party for formals in one of the shaded gardens. Just before we finished the formals, I shot a few pictures of just Abby and Adam with some amazing backlight. Yes, we actually had a sunny day!

As soon as Abby and Adam were announced into the reception, they went right past the sweetheart table and did a couple of spins on the dance floor before heading back to the table for the toasts. I should have taken the hint.

It wasn’t long before John, the DJ, had the dance floor up to maximum occupancy. Abby and Adam led the way with their crazy antics. Everyone else followed suit. What do I mean by "crazy antics"? I guess you just had to be there…

Abby and Adam – thank you for including Alana and I in your celebration. I loved all of your creativity and your desire to have fun every moment of the day. I hope you always enjoy life the way you did on your wedding day!
