Tram and Greg’s Wedding

I’ve spent the last 48 hours trying to come up with a succinct way to describe Tram for this blog. Although I feel that nothing I say can truly explain who she is, I’ll do my best. Firecracker. Spunky. Warm. Hilarious. Louder than life. Surprising. Yup, that’s Tram.

My relationship with Tram and Greg prior to the wedding definitely wasn’t "the usual." They live in Manhattan, so Tram and I actually only talked over the phone when they originally booked us for their wedding. It wasn’t until July that I met Tram face-to-face in Manhattan. We met up for a very memorable lunch with her coworkers. The day was hot and humid and the upstairs of the Japanese restaurant had minimal air conditioning, if any. Her coworker Ken, was telling of his grand plans to enter Tram’s wedding on a helicopter and asked if we could get a good angle photography-wise. We then tried to figure out how Tram would top his entrance. The laughter did much to keep our mind off the heat.

The day before their wedding, I met Tram and Greg on site at Plimoth Plantation. Greg was definitely Tram’s "yang." He was quiet and reserved but was definitely excited about the wedding. They complimented each other perfectly.

The next day, George and I arrived at the hotel where everyone was getting ready. The music was blaring when we walked in the room. Tram was in the bathroom working on her hair and makeup. George got to work on the dress photos while I snapped candids of the ladies. A short time later, George and I headed off to find Greg. After a quick introduction, I headed back to Tram’s room to continue the "getting ready" photos. George, Greg and the rest of the guys headed for the Plantation.

We arrived at Plimoth Plantation a short while later. The Hornblower Garden is a gorgeous outdoor setting for a wedding ceremony. The multi-tiered garden is accented with stone walls and a fountain in the lower tier. The sun had been in and out all day, but high clouds were finally starting to dominate the sky. We couldn’t have asked for better light in this beautiful location. We took advantage of the location for the formal photos as well.

The reception was held in the tented pavilion on the other side of the Plantation’s property. It overlooks a picturesque pond and is surrounded by photographic opportunities. We snapped a few more formals with Tram and Greg with the pond as a backdrop prior to their announcement into the reception.

The reception began with toasts from the best man and maid of honor. They were both hysterically funny and I snapped one of my all time favorite photos of Tram laughing as the best man gave his toast. Without a doubt, laughter is my favorite emotion to capture and Tram loves to laugh.

When it came to the cake cutting, I instructed Tram and Greg on what they need to do and then said, "I need you to pose for one quick shot before you cut the cake." As I pointed the camera in their direction, Greg said to Tram, "He said to pose." They both leaned way back and made a crazy face. I laughed out loud as I took the photo.

The rest of the evening was filled with great food, much laughter, and one crazy dance party. Tram and Greg hardly left the dance floor and their friends were happy to keep pace with them. DJ Vic took requests from the guests so there was a great variety in the music. Everyone had something to dance to and that’s exactly what they did.

Tram and Greg – It was truly our privilege to participate in your wedding day. We had a fantastic time and love your love for life. We hope that that spark never dies. Many blessings as you continue your lives together!

It’s always to fun to see former clients.  Chenxi and Sean were married in the same location last summer.  They’ve added a little boy to their family since I saw them last.  Congrats you guys!
