Brigida & Josh’s Engagement Session
I met up with Brigida and Josh at Pan Handler’s in Newport. Josh’s uncle owns the place. I was greeted warmly by them both. The weather, on the other hand, wasn’t so gracious. We were struggling with the best place to shoot in Newport because the sky was rather ominous. Knowing we had umbrellas and jackets, we decided just to go for it. And we’re all glad we did.
We walked down the street to a small park. Josh mentioned that they had a funny moment that morning when he thought Brigida had called him a "fruit Newton." Of course, she wasn’t calling Josh a name…she was actually talking about something completely unrelated. But the "fruit Newton" reference definitely resurfaced a couple of times during our session.
We strolled a little further and found a great little alley which led us to a fire escape on the back of a theatre. The textures in the weathered brick and rusted iron were fantastic!
The weather was still iffy, so we headed for our vehicles and drove to Fort Adams State Park. Although the fort itself wasn’t open for the season yet, we walked all around the perimeter and found so many different spots to shoot. The Newport Bridge in the background added the perfect "Newport" feel to the photos.
We finished the session at a small brick out building next to the main fort. The wooden benches even more weathered brick were too good not to use.
Brigida and Josh – I had so much fun wandering around Newport with you both and laughing the whole way. I’m so glad you found each other. Can’t wait for the big day!!
I think someone was talking about "fruit newtons"
