McCreary Family Portraits
I had the shot in my head weeks before the shoot. Dave playing his guitar like the crazy man he is and his family looking on in bored disbelief. Now I just had to convince them.
I’ve know the McCreary family for several years now. We go to the same church – the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene. Dave plays his guitar in the worship team with Dorothy. He also owns his own business – AutoToys in Randolph. It’s one of those places that wives hope their husbands and sons never find. Then again, it’s a great place for ladies to shop for gifts for the guys in their lives. They have (or can get) just about every after-market option you need for your car. For example, on my recently purchased Tacoma, Dave’s shop has installed an alarm system, automatic starter, tinting, bed cover and a stereo with navigation and iPod capability. Dorothy’s response was probably her usual eye roll. "But sweetie, I need all that stuff!" I said. She already had an automatic starter and alarm Dave had installed on her car, so there wasn’t much to say. Now I’m just trying to convince her that I need a more powerful speaker system. She’s not buying it though…yet…
As a small business owner himself, Dave has also mentored me over the past few years as I’ve worked to build my business and balance my life at the same time. Our early morning meetings at Panera Bread have done me, my business and my family a world of good. Every small business owner should have a mentor or two in his/her life. Makes a BIG difference.
When Dave mentioned that his family may want to do a family portrait session, I was thrilled. He has a beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters. I think they adopted Dave…just like Dorothy and Lily adopted me. But I digress. I coordinated the session with Bethany and we decided on the Sheep Pasture in Easton. Ironically, I had been there for the first time just a week prior and Bethany, the day before the shoot. Go figure. Turns out it is a fantastic place to shoot! Rock walls, open fields, barns, streams, bridges – this place just has it all. Oh, sheep too, but we didn’t take pictures with them.
If you ever need a great accessory for your car, AutoToys is the place to go. Dave genuinely cares about his customers and does a top-notch job with every installation. If you ever want to see some sheep, go to the Sheep Pasture in Easton. Maybe you’ll bump into me…at either place.
Oh Dave…
One of my favorites
Awww….sisters.
At least Dave’s girls could make him laugh.
The "Don’t mess with this family" pose.
Clearly, no one had fun…
Just LOVE this.
Like I said, two beautiful girls.
Priceless
Dave decided not to attempt this…
But he and Bethany did jump!
Oh, and that shot I had in my head…got it! Thanks McCrearys!
