Dinean and Mike Make it Official!
This past weekend, we had the privilege of working with Dinean and Mike.
When I first met Dinean and Mike last October, I quickly learned what a small world it is. They found me via the world wide web, not through a friend. As soon as Dinean looked at the first picture in my portfolio, she said, "I know him!" It turns out she used to work with one of my other clients. Later, we got onto the subject of where we were each from and we figured out that Dinean and my wife went to the same school. Lo and behold, they were classmates from elementary through high school. When I got home, I asked my wife if she remembered Dinean. She disappeared and came back moments later with a class picture from the fourth grade. There were Dinean and my wife standing next to each other! Unreal! One of the fun aspects of this job is constantly meeting new people and finding out in some cases, they may not be so "new" after all. Now on to the wedding….
We met the wedding party at a local hotel. George and I shot some getting ready pictures and then split up. He worked with the guys and I worked with the girls. We were able to get a good portion of the formal shots out of the way beforehand, which is always a plus. The girls, dressed in a lovely lilac color, were a lot of fun and all seemed to have cameras of their own. I think Dinean will have plenty of pictures! After shooting some formals in the courtyard, it was off to the church!
Dinean and Mike had their ceremony at St. Bernard’s Parish in Assonet. Dinean surprised Mike and had a bagpiper playing outside the church as everyone arrived. Once Dinean walked down the aisle, I was excited to see some great afternoon light streaming through the stained-glass window at the front of the church. It provided some excellent natural light for the pictures. Since it was a full mass, George and I had the opportunity to move around quite a bit for pictures (quietly, of course!).
Following the ceremony, we did a few more formal shots with the guys in the garden right outside the church. We also took some fun pictures of Dinean and Mike surrounded by bubbles that the wedding party blew at them.
If you’re ever looking for a perfectly manicured and picturesque place to have an outdoor ceremony and a great reception, Independence Harbor is the place! Dinean and Mike selected this location for their reception and formal pictures. Rarely have I seen such perfectly manicured grounds (no, they don’t give me anything for saying this). We spent time taking the formal pictures with the wedding party and families and then worked with just the newlyweds for about fifteen more minutes. We took full advantage of the grounds and took pictures at a few different locations.
After the bridal party was formally introduced to the guests, Dinean and Mike had their first dance as a married couple. Dinean also danced with her step-dad and Mike with his mom. The newlyweds then "danced" from table to table, personally greeting each of their guests.
Following dinner, the DJ cranked up the music and had the dance floor full in no time. Everyone danced the night away!
We’d like to thank Dinean and Mike for allowing us to share in their wedding day. You were both a lot of fun to work with!
